![]() ![]() Words are totally inadequate to express the gratitude and respect we have for the Doctors and staff at Ashcake Animal Clinic who saved our pet's life. Also it's unfortunate that I have to give this whole establishment 1 star because of our experience with a vet tech, but I could not let this go unreported. Maybe if my dog was presented with a kind, caring tech the situation would have been a little better. My dog could smell this lady's attitude which made this whole situation so much worse. Like I said, my dog has never bit, scratched, or done anything towards anyone with malicious intent. She put off a very judge mental persona and claimed we need to "fix her issues" now before she hurts somebody else. We informed her that we have put our dog through multiple training courses and her only issue is that she is a shy, skiddish dog who only trusts me and my close family. Then the vet tech sits down and tells us that we need to do serious training to get her "problem fixed" or need to start giving her tranquilizers or other sedative drugs. My dog has never done that before in her life and was clearly showing signs she was terrified of this woman and ready to run back to us. Then the rude vet tech comes out while dragging our dog and informs us that our dog pooped/peed on herself out of fear. Then we hear them saying "These people obviously don't know how to care for this dog" and "She needs to be tranquillized(.couldn't hear the rest of this phrase.)" and so on. In the back room my dog was crying extremely loud, and instead of them coming out and asking what we think they should do, they yelled at her. As she dragged the dog back into the room my dog made choking noises which she never makes. She pulled extremely hard on her leash which resulted in the collar (one designed to get tighter as it starts to slip) almost slipping off her head. One vet tech in particular was very rude in the way she handled my dog. My dog only reacts by simply moving away from the problem or in situations like this she will resist to being pulled away from her family. My dog has horrible anxiety and acts out when new people try to do things to her however, she never acts maliciously(ex: biting, scratching, etc.). Super nice, caring, and are good at their job.
